Vimy Foundation Dinner 2014

Over 400 business leaders, elected officials, members of the Canadian Forces and students gathered for the second annual Vimy Foundation fundraising dinner to raise money for a new education centre at the Vimy Memorial site in France. The Foundation focuses on creating awareness among Canadians of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the impact it had on the growth of Canada as a nation.

Guests gathered at the historic Fairmont Royal York hotel in downtown Toronto and were delighted by speakers including Master of Ceremonies, Todd Van der Heyden, board member and Chair of the Vimy 2017 Committee, Christopher Sweeney, and Honourary Chair, General (Ret’d) Rick Hillier. Entertainment for the evening featured special performances by the Crescent School Boys Choir and legendary Canadian musician John McDermott. The event raised over $300,000 and set the stage in the lead up to the centennial celebrations coming up on April 9, 2017.
