Vimy Foundation Dinner 2014

Black Chalk Marketing has had the opportunity to successfully produce the 2nd and 3rd annual Vimy Foundation fundraising dinners. Each spring, business leaders, elected officials, members of the Canadian Forces and students gather to raise money for the new Vimy Visitor Education Centre at the Vimy Memorial site in France. The Foundation focuses on creating awareness among Canadians of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the impact it had on the growth of Canada as a nation.

In 2015, guests gathered in Constitution Hall in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto and were delighted by speakers including Master of Ceremonies, Kevin Newman, board member and Chair of the Vimy 2017 Committee, Christopher Sweeney, Canadian actor Paul Gross and Major-General Richard Rohmer. Entertainment for the evening featured special performances by an up and coming opera singer, the Crescent School Boys Choir and Canadian musician Jason Wilson and his band, The Soldiers of Song.

The event raised over $330,000, making a considerable contribution to the foundations goals in the lead up to the centennial celebrations coming up on April 9, 2017.
