Virgin Mobile – BlackBerry Torch Launch

Virgin Mobile launched the newest member to its cellular phone family in an explosive manner. The brand new BlackBerry Torch was introduced to the public with availability on the Virgin network. There was a free BBQ, a DJ playing the hottest tracks by request, and a pyrotechnic show all happening in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square. Information packages, ice, cream, food, and of course five BlackBerry Torch were all part of giveaways during this event. The event attracted several thousand people to the event , giving away over 2000 free gourmet BBQ throughout the day and evening. Provided another opportunity to promote Member benefits to current subscribers (over 500,000). Contributed to dramatic lift in sales on post-paid service; with Q4 sales more than double year over year.
